If someone thinks all relationships will die, are they insecure?

A ';friend'; of mine who has been much more than a friend to me, thinks relationships will die the moment they are created. Is he insecure or could it be more of a psychological thing?

It's hard to understand because his actions do not match his need to remain ';friends';If someone thinks all relationships will die, are they insecure?
He's pessimistic and jaded and maybe perhaps insecure. If someone thinks all relationships will die, are they insecure?
It seems like your friend has difficulty in making himself vulnerable to others. This could stem from a poor conception of self. I would venture to say these individuals are somewhat inhibited in their relationships for fear of being hurt. Generally, they tend to feel more deeply than others when it comes to matters of the heart.
he is using it as an excuse to get what he wants from you but to not have it go anywhere serious. he is just not that into you
